London, 14th March, 2022 – PebblePad CEO Shane Sutherland will take to the stage at this year’s BETT Show, to discuss trends in assessment in Higher Education for the year ahead.
Speaking on Thursday 23rd March at 1:30pm Shane will be joined by Aftab Hussain, ILT and LRC Manager at Bolton College, James Browning, Chief Digital & Information Officer at the Academies Enterprise Trust, John Kleeman, EVP, External Relations and Business Development at Learnosity and Philip Le Feuvre, Chief Strategy Officer at NCFE.
Against the backdrop of another tough year in education, Shane will discuss authenticity as an emerging key assessment design principle – asserting the idea that authentic assessment (which demonstrates the purposeful application of knowledge in practice) is increasingly being viewed as more important than knowledge recall. He will provide practical advice to universities on how to embed authentic assessment into curriculum design – drawing on his experience of working with Higher Education institutions the world over.
Shane says: “At PebblePad, we believe that authentic assessment sets today’s students up for success. Using creative learning experiences to test students’ skills and knowledge in realistic situations not only helps shore up their confidence today, but provides them with the skills, experience and knowledge required for the world of work.”
Join Shane for the Future of Assessment panel at the Futures Theatre on 23rd March at 1:30pm. The BETT Show 2022 will be held at ExCel London. To register, visit https://uk.bettshow.com/.
