So my role at Leeds is, to provide pedagogical advice, support, guidance, and training to all staff. That’s academic and professional staff across the university using PebblePad.

So this graphic shows that we are very keen to foster a sense of belonging for students at Leeds, and that’s crucial for student success and achievement. The graphic shows some of the areas that contribute to students’ feeling of belonging during their time at Leeds, And I’ve highlighted one in particular that I’m going to come on to.

So academic personal tutoring at Leeds uses PebblePad, and we developed the Leeds for Life workbook for all students. And we have a undergraduate and a postgraduate version.

Downside is they have to be registered with Leeds accounts, and you know what I’m going to say, don’t you?

So what are the barriers for implementing that? So when they arrive, they obviously have Leeds accounts, and that’s the main barrier that we try to address by using PebblePad.

So, when students arrive, we have quite a lot of information for them. So one of the things that we do is we provide them with the Leeds and You. It’s a generic website.

Lots of information for students coming to Leeds, generic set of web pages with a lot of information for all the students, and it’s regularly updated, but it is generic.

So the solution with PebblePad, what did we try to do? We tried to give them a variety of different activities as you can see on the slide, but we were trying to give them some targeted and more specific information.
