Summary
This action research study evaluated PebblePad as a reflective e-portfolio platform in healthcare education, revealing that student-led changes to support, structure, and sharing significantly boosted engagement and usage. While students appreciated the platform’s visual design and sharing capabilities, they found it less intuitive to use. The findings suggest that for successful adoption in higher education, e-portfolios should be simple to navigate, well-supported, and foster open communication and reflection among students and tutors.
