At our Minibash event, Rebecca Thorley from the University of Leeds will share how PebblePad has been used to design a reflection‑focused workbook that supports Level 3 students preparing for an assessed mock interview.
This session explores how the workbook helps students articulate the ways their degree learning has enhanced their professional practice and development — a challenge particularly evident for mature students balancing study with work and home commitments. Focus group insights revealed that while degree knowledge was actively being applied in practice, the language of theory, authors, and models often became ‘hidden’.
Using PebblePad, the workbook deliberately re‑introduces prior content and assessments alongside structured prompts and evidence‑based reflections. This approach enables students to (re)surface their learning and confidently connect academic knowledge with real‑world professional practice.
The session demonstrates how purposeful PebblePad design can transform reflection into a powerful tool for assessment, confidence‑building, and employability.
