Learn how the University of Edinburgh designed and is implementing an institution-wide Curriculum Transformation Programme based on the SLICCs framework, all housed within PebblePad.
In this exclusive use case featured at PebbleBash 2024, Dr Gavin McCabe and Professor Simon C Riley detail how this innovative approach has enabled student-led and credit-bearing experiential learning at scale – all while creating a meaningful experience for both learners and staff. The programme is already helping to:
- Foster student growth in skills, reflection, learning mindset and autonomy through connected, self-directed learning within a safe environment.
- Give staff the opportunity for deeper engagement with students’ experiential learning as well as the freedom to focus on establishing rich learner activities.
- Embed SLICCs in the approaches being utilised by the programme, while increasing the understanding of effective reflective learning and its assessment.
The success and impact of the resulting system has been profound and is now used by over 30 courses across all three of the university’s colleges and in multiple schools, covering every level of study. Importantly, the programme supports future students’ learning and preparedness to deal with significant challenges in a complex world.
